Steve Holland as Flash Gordon

This 1950's television incarnation of Flash Gordon has very little to do with the original comic or movie serial, but it's a fine slice of 1950's sci-fi cheese. Faster paced, and slightly more interesting than the ROCKY JONES, SPACE RANGER or SPACE PATROL, it is probably best supported by Steve Holland as Flash. Steve didn't have much else on his science fiction resume (or any resume) other than this American/French/West German co-production, BUT his legacy is HUGE! This man was an artists model who could supposedly hold an action pose for quite some time, and was the perfect model for mens adventure magazines, often appearing as four or more characters on a single cover. In the 1960's Bantam books reprinted what many consider to be the greatest pulp series ever written. The new covers were to be illustrated by James Bama, who called Steve Holland "the worlds greatest male model". Through the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's Steve Holland would personify none other than DOC SAVAGE, THE MAN OF BRONZE!
