Oh teenagers! They will cry and wail about the smallest things. Take for instance Ellie Master. Her prostitute mother and the latest john are beaten to death by a hammer wielding maniac. She is then sent to an orphanage that is run like a concentration camp by sadist. And then, it looks like the hammer wielding maniac is back to finish what he started. Besides these few unfortunate things, Ellie really needs to stop being such a baby.

The nastiest PG film ever?

In the early 1970's, it seems the ratings board may have been a little lazy in giving out ratings. This film is fairly harsh for its PG rating. Sure, it's no CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, but starting out with a (then groundbreaking) Point Of View hammer murder, only to slide into some nasty child murders, not to mention sleazy abuse, this is definitely something that should have received an R rating. Remember, this was seven years before HALLOWEEN (which made the POV murder a requirement in subsequent mad-killers-on-the-loose movies)and thirteen years before a horribly scarred killer threatened children in A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. I'm not saying this movie was an influence to either of these classics, but it definitely has an ahead-of-its-time vibe. Much lambasting of the score for this feature on the internet, but I found it mostly effective. Enjoy! Thisd one is another little seen b-movie gem.
