Check out an 'Asylum' review at: LiberalDead.com
Asylum is a classic horror anthology (a feature containing several sub stories) that was produced in Britain in the early 70's. Great storytelling from writer Robert Bloch, and directed by talented Milton Subotsky, all 4 sub stories, as well as the "framing" plot makes for an extremely entertaining film.
The plot is based on a young psychiatrist who is applying for a job at an insane asylum. As a test of his skills, he is challenged to interview 4 inmates and evaluate their condition, and determine which of the inmates is, in fact, his predecessor. It seems that the previous doctor, Dr. B. Starr, has underwent a complete mental breakdown. It is here the game begins, as the young psychiatrist begins delving into the twisted minds of the insane. Each story stands on it's own merit and the unpredictable twist in the framing story, keeps us intrigued until the very end.
Interesting Fact: The film was produced by Amicus who brought us other great anthologies such as: Terror's House of Horrors, From Beyond the grave, The Vault of horror and their most successful series Tales from the Crypt.

One of Amicus's Best
I absolutely love this film. Quite possibly the best of the Amicus horror anthologies, with Tales From The Crypt a very close runner up.
This is a great movie!
I also must agree that Freezer is probably my favorite story, too. It just simply WORKS!
